On 19 April 2022, coinciding with Nuzul Quran, 17 Ramadan 1443H, the BeVital Group has launched its very first BeVital Physiotherapy Centre in Malaysia that provides physiotherapy services for the Asnaf, B40s and marginalised communities such as refugees, homeless and persons with disabilities (OKU).
The ceremony was officiated by Dr Mohammad Munawwar Hatta, the Deputy President of the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM), and was witnessed by representatives from UNHCR and its NGO partners: Equity Initiative, Earth Heir and Rohingnya Women Development Network.
In collaboration with IMAM, the aim of the centre is to provide effective physiotherapy rehabilitation to vulnerable communities especially the B40s who works in 3D sectors and are at high risk to sustain workplace injuries.
Physiotherapy is essential for them to recover from their injuries and achieve optimum functionality, thus maintaining their livelihoods.
As a social enterprise, BeVital Group runs the centre via a cross-subsidy model, whereby income from treating public patients will used to cover cost of treating the beneficiaries.
"The more patients we treat, the more individuals we can help"
