BeVital Physiotherapy Center aims to provide subsidized physiotherapy services to refugees, the first-of-its-kind startup project in Malaysia. The center is located in Selayang, where concentration of refugees is amongst the highest in Selangor.

Refugees in Malaysia have limited rights to legal employment and most end up having jobs that are dirty, dangerous and difficult (3D), which exposes them to physical injuries and hazards that may affect their mobility and functionality to work at such jobs. These impediments are a risk to their source of income. There is an urgent need for refugees to have access to healthcare services beyond the basic clinics.

The business will adopt a cross-subsidy model, whereby income from full-paying patients for physiotherapy services rendered will be used to subsidize the refugees who need physiotherapy care. Through this physiotherapy center, refugees will be able to have access and receive the care that they need, improve their health and well-being, and protect their livelihoods.  

At BeVital Physiotherapy Center, refugees with physical injuries and mobility issues will have access to physiotherapy services and receive the care that they need. Refugees will be able improve their health and well-being, protect their livelihoods and support their families. This brings about positive social impact and elevates the quality of life of the refugees.
