PUBLIC HEALTH: UNMET NEED FOR REHAB IN PUBLIC HEALTHCARE

A Podcast with BFM radio 89.9

If you’ve had a sports injury or some sort of joint pain, you’ve probably had to undergo physiotherapy. If you’re a stroke survivor, rehabilitation like occupational or speech therapy helps you recover functions for daily living. These are just some of the rehabilitation services that support millions of people to become as independent as possible following an injury or illness. (Globally, about 2.4 billion people are currently living with a health condition that benefits from rehabilitation.)

Our Founder, Dr Ahmad Munawwar Helmi Salim was given the opportunity to address the unmet need for rehabilitation in the public healthcare. Joining Dr Munawwar in the podcast was Azrul Mohd Khalib, CEO, Galen Centre for Health & Social Policy where they discuss the gaps that currently exist and how BeVital is looking to fulfil some of these needs.
